Bali

Bali is a little Island part of Indonesia located in the westerntmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying betwen Java to the west and lombok in the east. The island is home to the vast majority of Indonesia's small Hindu minority. Aabout 93,2 % of Balinese is Hinduism.

Balinese Hinduism has roots in India Hinduism and in Buddhism and adopted the animistic tradition of the indigenous people. Every elemet of the nature reflects the power of the Gods. Balinese Hinduism is deeply interwoven with art and rituals. Self-control is the religious expression of the among Balinese Hinduism. For this reason they become famous for their graceful and great behavior.

Culture is the part of the Bali Island. Bali is renowned for art, music as gamelan and dance such as pendet, legong, baris, topeng, barong, kecak ect. Balinese dances are famous all over the world and the Balinese themselves take them very seriously. Birthdays, weddings, and temples festivals are all occasions for dramatic performances and dance is inextricably linked with the Balinese religion. The commercial performances for tourists that are today offered on a daily basis in several places of Bali do, of course, not have the same religious significance and atmosphere of a dance that is performed at a real temple festival. In Hinduism, dance is an accompaniment to the perpetual dissolving and reforming of the world.
